Instead of Turnsheets, in Ex Nihilo you will be submitting Plans; a brief summary of what you want to get up to next Uptime (for more details, please see the Plans page). Here are a couple of examples, to show what we mean! These are just for show, and the specific details (e.g. the “hornet-like creatures”) are not necessarily representative of what you will encounter in-game.
What do you want to do next uptime?: Following the incident with those angry hornet-like creatures, Ivy would like to figure out how to make some sort of armour to protect any expedition teams, and use the hornet stingers as weapons. They'll be organising trips outside to fetch bark, vines etc. to be crafted into crude shields and protective gear. Obviously it's too dangerous for Ivy to go out, it's simply not as good at fighting as the others, Ivy will just take on the organisational work and delegate the rest. Out of the goodness of their heart.
Anyways, while those chumps are outside, Ivy be safe and snug indoors, greasing up the other PCs or favours it can trade them the armour for.
What do you want this to accomplish for your character arc?: This is a power play by Ivy, to see if they can get others to do its bidding. The plan has a double-benefit if it works, because they would then get the opportunity to withhold the protective equipment (because she nicked all the hornet stingers, too, so she's the only one who's armed). Obviously, the other PCs aren't going to like this, and I expect it will go awfully for Ivy, but hey, I'm having fun.
What do you want to do next uptime?: Snow would like to investigate the eyrie we saw on those far-off mountains! It's a good climber, and the mountain-top looks like an easy scale. That old fart Whisper is harping on about “PrOpHeSiEs oF dOoM” and to “bEWaRe tHE dAnGERoUs HeiGHtS”, but that's a load of old rubbish. Nothing could possibly go wrong!
What do you want this to accomplish for your character arc?: Have you ever read the story of Icarus? My boy Snow is going down. Ideally, I'd like someone else to get hurt by this, to really rub in the hubris doing more harm than good, but understand if it's not possible OC. This will be the bottom of Snow's arc, and whether they get a redemption or not will probably depend on how this next session goes!
