======Sample Characters======
A whole wealth of character archetypes can be played in //Ex Nihilo//; for more details please see the [[:system:character_creation|Character Creation page]]. Here are a couple of example characters, giving some typical individuals you may find in //Ex Nihilo//. Don't let any of this limit your imagination, however; you're starting with a blank slate (hehe). There are plenty of ways to build your character, these are just examples!

=====Sample Character 1=====
  * **OC information:** Andi N. O'Pall, she/her
  * **IC Name:** Flowering-plant
  * **IC Appearance:** Large and round, almost snowman-esque. They're made of a stratified, sedimentary stone with grey and tan stripes. On where the face would be in a humanoid figure, there's a perfectly circular cut-out, imitating an eye.
  * **IC pronouns:** they/them (not it, please)
  * **Possible Cores:** The Resonant seems fun, for that idea of community or closeness. The Tormented could also work, as a way to bring more depth to the character; they care for others, while battling their own internal demons ]>:) (<- that's a demon face)
  * **Seeds:** Caretaker and Communalist, I want my character to be quite a nurturing type.
  * **Quirks:**
    * **Death:** Persistent. I don't want to die :(
    * **Unexpected Injuries:** Warn Me, I would really prefer the heads up
    * **Emotional Hardship:** Make Me Cry (Do it, cowards)
    * **Agency:** Affected Sensations (but I might change this if I get the Tormented Core)
  * **Plans for participation:** I want to play the full thing! Attendance may be flaky towards the end, so I might have a chat about the options if I can't make it later on.
  * **Other OC notes to GMs:** Hiiiii
  * **What drives your character?:** A deep-seated care for others! When they woke up into this world, Flowering-plant saw scared people just like them, and wanted to look after them. It helps Flowering-plant look after themselves, too.
  * **How would your character react to waking up in a frightening new world?:** With fear. There's so much to see, and so much that can go wrong! It's a bit spooky for them, but they're going to make sure everyone else is safe.
  * **How does your character relate to the others?** Very much cares for them, but I think they see themself in a custodial role? We'll FOIP together on whether Flowering-plant trusts people to make the right decisions, or whether people need more direct guidance to keep them safe.

  * **OC information:** Grant Counter, they/it
  * **IC Name:** You choose!!
  * **IC Appearance:** Tbh not sure, I'd like something fun to physically act out, so maybe some odd proportions or differences in limb structure. Other than that, GM's choice!! :)
  * **IC pronouns:** any/all 
  * **Possible Cores:** Oh my gosh, The Infested calls to me. Augur or Manifold could be very fun too.
  * **Seeds:** I want to make my little rock guy suffer, so I'm going to make my own: Hopeful -- They can see the bright side of any situation, no matter how dire.
  * **Quirks:** 
    * **Death:** I'm Here To The End
    * **Unexpected Injuries:** Surprise Me
    * **Emotional Hardship:** Make Me Cry
    * **Agency:** Controlled Mind :)
  * **Plans for participation:** I'll be here the whole time!!
  * **Other OC notes to GMs:** Why is a pebble braver than most people? 'cause they're a little boulder.
  * **What drives your character?:** Hope! It's a glass-half-full kinda guy, even if the glass is half-full of blood.
  * **How would your character react to waking up in a frightening new world?:** It's spooky out here, but I'm sure it will get better. We can make it better if we work together! Hey, what's that giant toothed thing?
  * **How does your character relate to the others?** It definitely doesn't see them as competitors, but depending on what you're planning with the Infested Core stuff, it might start to see them as different? I'm scared about what you have planned (but looking forwards to it).
